Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has announced a temporary pause in his public activities due to a recent health concern.

Obi disclosed that he began feeling unwell on Friday while attending a tourism event in Enugu. Following a medical consultation, his doctor advised him to take a short break—one or two days—for rest and recovery.

“Earlier in Enugu, I was not feeling well. I visited the hospital where the doctor prescribed some medication and advised rest,” Obi explained.

Despite his condition, the former governor travelled to Anambra State where he made a ₦10 million donation to support the revitalization of Good Hope Specialist Hospital in Isulo. He expressed regret that his health challenge would prevent him from fulfilling some local and international commitments during this period.

“I sincerely apologise for any inconveniences this might cause and humbly ask for your understanding,” he said.

Reaffirming his dedication to improving Nigeria’s healthcare system, Obi emphasized the importance of investing in hospitals and medical training institutions as vital steps toward national development.
